David's plan

David has a dream
He is building something big
that experts have been trying for years
yet without success
Some say he’ll never make it
or at least it’s very unlikely that he will
Does he know?
It mustn’t have mattered
Or he is genuinely ignorant
of the fatality of the project
He doesn’t have a place of his own
and lives off his savings
“I have one more year”
he says
to live like this
No one knows what will happen in a year
Does he have a plan?
It may not have mattered
He might be genuinely oblivious
of the prospect of failing
But can one ever fail
at chasing
if one refuses to stop?
Maybe that’s David’s plan
and everyone else can say whatever the fuck they want
